What is PF E-Nomination?

PF E-Nomination is an online process that allows Provident Fund (PF) account holders to nominate one or more individuals as beneficiaries of their PF savings and related benefits. By completing the e-nomination, you ensure that your PF savings, pension benefits, and insurance (under the EDLIS scheme) are securely transferred to your nominee(s) in case of any unforeseen event. This process is quick, hassle-free, and eliminates the need for paperwork.

Step-by-Step Guide to PF E-Nomination

The PF e-nomination process ensures that your Provident Fund benefits are securely assigned to your chosen nominee. Follow this simple guide to complete your PF e-nomination easily from your Mobile or PC:

Step 1: Log In to Your EPFO Portal

-Write in Google Chrome "EPFO Employee Login".
- Or Click on the official link to visit the EPFO Member Portal https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in.
- Log in using your UAN (Universal Account Number) and password and Captcha.

Step 2: Access the E-Nomination Option

-After logging in, go to the Manage section on the top menu.
-Select E-Nomination from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Update Your Profile (If Needed- Ignore if every details is updated)

-Check if your profile details, such as your name, date of birth, and gender, are correct.
-If updates are needed, you may need to get them verified by your employer before proceeding and if every details is already updated you can proceed for further step.

Step 4: Add Family Details

-In the e-nomination page, click on “Yes” to declare family details.
-Add the details of your family members, such as:

o    Name

o    Date of Birth

o    Relationship

o    Address

o    Photo of Nominee ( It should 100 Kb)

Step 5: Assign Nominee(s)

-After adding family details, assign one or more nominees.
-Specify the percentage of share for each nominee (e.g., 50% for one and 50% for another or 100%).

Step 6: Save Nominee Details

-Click on the Save Nomination button to save the entered details.

Step 7: Authenticate Using Aadhaar (E-sign with your Aadhar)

      -Go again to manage section then to Nomination section.
-Click on E-Sign Option.
-Enter your Aadhar Number and click on get OTP.
-You will receive OTP on your aadhar register mobile number.
-Enter the OTP.   

Step 8: Confirmation

-Once the OTP authentication is successful, your e-nomination is completed.
-You will receive a confirmation message on the screen.

 


Why Is E-Nomination Important?

1.     It ensures that your Provident Fund benefits are easily transferred to your nominee(s) in case of any unforeseen event.

2.     It avoids delays in claim settlements for your family.

3.     Post-nomination, your nominee(s) may also be eligible for PF 7 lakh EDLIS (Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme) benefits, which provide life insurance coverage under the EPFO.
